Powered by Her Kenya
In Western Kenya, near Lake Victoria, young people, especially girls, face systemic poverty, hunger, and limited opportunities. Many are forced into early marriage or exploitation, with little hope of breaking the cycle.
Powered by Her Kenya is changing that.
This innovative program provides mentorship, entrepreneurship training, life skills education, and access to resources to equip students—and their families—with the tools to build a sustainable future. Through hands-on learning, coaching, and community support, young women gain the confidence and skills to start businesses, pursue careers, and become leaders in their communities.
Local leaders credit PBH Kenya with significantly decreased school dropout, teen pregnancy, and infection rates not only among participants, but across entire communities.
How It Works:
🔹 Mentorship & Coaching: Students receive guidance from experienced mentors who help them develop a vision for their future and navigate challenges.
🔹 Life & Work Skills: From leadership and communication to goal-setting and self-advocacy, participants learn critical skills for success.
🔹 Family & Community Engagement: Students participate in training, support networks, and service projects to foster long-term impact and sustainability.
🔹 Financial & Entrepreneurship Training: Parents participate in training in savings, financial literacy, and business planning that equips them to care for these students and keep them in school.
In partnership with Flint Global and Sajira Kenya, we’re not just educating individuals—we’re transforming families and entire communities.
